Description
The oak tree is a powerful symbol of antiquity, strength and growth. Trees reach down into the ground and up to the sky at the same time. This action reflects your own ability to remain rooted in your personal truth while experiencing the external world around you. Tree branches contain ancient teachings that encourage you to classify, identify and incorporate wisdom.
A beautiful lotus mandala is nestled within the branches of the tree. Mandalas are sacred art forms that symbolize various aspects of the universe. These special symbols have deep spiritual significance and are used in ritual and meditation practices. This sacred circle transforms suffering into grace. Lotus mandalas represent purity in action and freedom from attachment. The lotus flower symbolizes the yoga of awakening to your true Self.
The hand gesture located at the base of the tree is the Mukula Mudra. A mudra corresponds to certain aspects of Hindu and Buddhist teachings that designate a ritual gesture directed towards enlightenment. The Universe is composed of five elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether. Our body is also a union of these natural elements; this union is represented by our five fingers. Hand mudras regulate the five elements. The fingers that correspond to each element are: the thumb for fire; the index (Jupiter finger) for air; the middle (Saturn finger) for ether or space; the ring (Sun finger) for earth; and the pinky (Mercury finger) for water. The Mukula Mudra’s appearance resembles the bud of a lotus flower, symbolizing new beginnings. Through the act of forgiveness, you remain in present moment awareness allowing gifts of new opportunities to flow into your life.
There are two celtic knots located on each side of the tree. On the left is the triple spiral. This beautiful celtic knot depicts the awareness of one within the context of the whole. The triple spiral reminds you to let go, surrender and release. The celtic knot on the right is the five fold symbol devoted to the five elements: fire, earth, air, water and ether. Balancing these five elements creates inner harmony.
